New house build. All plasterwork. Soundproofing. Concealed speaker integration.
This large project was completed on the new build of a 6 bedroom, 8 bathroom, waterfront house at Palm Beach on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
We worked with a Northern Beaches building company on this project and our brief was to create a flawless, contemporary finish on all ceiling and wall finishes. The seamless integration of all lighting and speakers was paramount to create the perception of clean lines.
All aspects of this project were finished to the highest standards and Level 5 plasterwork application was applied across all surfaces.
Details of plastering and soundproofing work completed.
- Suspended ceilings throughout using acoustic plasterboard (Gyprock) and framework. Level 5 set ceilings to reduce glancing light.
- Soundproofing via dual-layer 13mm acoustic plasterboard with the visco elastic in between to minimise the sound bouncing and echoing within the room and to improve the sound acoustics.
- Level 5 plaster finishing on all walls and ceilings.
- Fibre cement sheeting for bathroom walls in preparation for tiling.
- Installation of 4 x very large skylights. These required bulkhead framing to hold the linings in place with metal framing to ensure the skylights finished flush.
- Blind track installation recessed into the ceiling and running parallel together.
- P-50 (10mm) shadowline finish at the ceiling to wall junction.
- Installation of 60 x concealed speakers in all rooms throughout the house.
- Build hidden cavities and bulkheads in bathrooms and utility rooms to conceal air conditioning units, extractor fans, plumbing, etc.
- Integrated lighting featuring recessed downlights. Hidden lighting track installation.
